Frequently Asked Questions

Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. It allows for a sun-kissed natural looking hair color with softer, less noticeable regrowth lines. The idea being less is more when creating soft, natural looks.

A good balayage expert will be able to place the color to suit your skin tone, so it’ll look amazing and really light up your features.

Very little! Balayage usually lasts from 3 to 5 months. It grows out beautifully and more naturally so you don’t get an obvious regrowth line, and and can wear it for longer between appointments.

All you really need to do is protect it as you would any other color: use a color protecting shampoo and conditioner, regular treatments and heat protection when styling.

A toner is a semi-permanent color that we use to neutralize or color your hair. If you want a warm blonde, ash blonde, ice blonde, or even a strawberry blonde, this is another step we take to ensure the correct color.
Have you ever heard the saying that slow and steady wins the race? That is also true with hair. An average appointment time can last at least three hours or more depending on your hair type and texture. But, always be prepared to stay longer. You never want to restrict your stylist to a time restraint. Blonde can be done in one appointment, but the time and integrity of your hair are the most important. If your hair is previously compromised, or if you’ve ever used boxed dye, that can affect the amount of appointments this may take.
Drastically changing your hair color does come with risks. Find a stylist that understands how much your hair can handle. That is why a lot of stylists take you blonde in multiple sessions to allow your hair to rest after going through a chemical service. We suggest waiting four weeks after the previous service.
COLD water will be the best way! Using hot water will open your will open your hair cuticle, causing the color to rinse out of your hair. Limiting how often you wash your hair will also help. Dry shampoo will be your best friend!
We suggest coming in about every 4 to 8 weeks.
This all depends on what type of hair color you got. Pastels normally wash out the quickest, in 4 to 6 weeks. More vibrant vivid colors last about 4 to 8 weeks. To get the longest-lasting vivid hair color, follow our recommendations on maintenance above.
We recommend a salon professional color safe shampoo & conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, and a heat protectant.
